We are proud to bring back our very first NYNT Motor City guest DJ,Bob Bert. Since the Conductor is away on business, he has entrusted this subterranean music legend with the reins of his entire night. Bert is of course best known for his inimitable drumming during his years as a member of seminal New York Noise bands likeSonic Youth (the star of “Death Valley 69,” etc) and Pussy Galore (Right Now!, etc.), and, later, Action Swingers, Chrome Cranks, and Knoxville Girls. He also fronted Bewitched in 1980s and early 1990s (check out their new compilation!) and spent many years publishing the stellar underground music magazine BB Gun. He’s currently a member of the supergroups Int’l Shades (or IS) and Size Queens. Bob will be spinning the finest standards and obscurities from downtown’s grimy underbelly, 1970s to the present.
