This week’s guests are Dan and Andreas from Other Music (15 E 4th Manhattan). Dan is also a member of Excepter – whose new Paw Tracks album, Debt Dept, comes out this week (go to the Record Release Party at Glasslands Saturday).

But, whether or not you’ve already witnessed these boundary pounding sonic adventurers live or on recording, know that their electronic improv burger continues to broaden – more musically challenging, yet elegant and with no shortage of, dare I say, poppier riffage and songier structures – fatter and juicier and easier on the stomach, but still exquisite and certainly not done your way - plus, still guaranteed to make you hallucinate for the two following days. Tonight we celebrate their fourth, and latest full-length, Debt Dept, on Paw Tracks, the label of other distinguished artists such as Animal Collective, Black Dice, and Ariel Pink. This uncommon bill also includes Social Registry’s legendary no wave revisionists Ghost Exits, raw theatrical Los Angeles buzz of Anavan, prolific experimental band Idea Fire Company, and locals Symbol. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t willing to give it a go in yet another Quixotically bold surgical experiment reconfiguring the eternally amorphous Frankenstein monster that, for lack of better terminology, we will call NYC subterranean nightlife. Will it be yet another “Cadillac One Piece at a Time” surrounded by white elephants or will your children grow up to thank him? While celebrity bartender Javad gently shakes the cocktails like a pair of Argentine maracas in the Rainbow Room, the Conductor/Soul Proprietor swirls a mix of lazy rock, soul, blues, jazz, crooners, exotica, soundtracks, and other light delights for your slow-dancing and lounging pleasure.
