Tonight MR. JONATHAN TOUBIN is joined once again behind the booth by FINE WINE of WFMU’s DOWNTOWN SOULVILLE! Mr. T’s good pal Fine Wine isn’t only one of the foremost soul radio DJs and record collectors in the world, and has what just may be NYC’s longest running soul night in NYC (Wednesdays at Botanica), but he also just released an stunning new rare r&b compilation in both CD and 7-inch box set format, Hipshakers, Volume 1 on Vampisoul Records. Maybe Fine Wine has a copy with your name on it?

As many of you know, Mr Toubin has dozens of 45s both produced and/or recorded by the late great Eddie Bo in his regular rotation. Fine Wine also Bo’s down all the time. While tonight is the usual Friday mix of r&b, soul, garage, rockabilly, freakbeat, etc, the focus will be on the work of the late great Eddie Bo – from his wild early jump/r&b/rockabilly to his later rhythmically and harmonically sophisticated soul and funk innovations. Come celebrate the work of one of the all-time greats with us!

Come hang with the band and check it out while Mr T and Sao Paulo’s Miss Pigy play you records at this comfy Williamsburg bar/cafe!
