I’m in Paris tonight so today’s Party Platter is one of my French dance floor favorites. This one’s one of the very rare instances where I prefer the rock and roll cover of a soul hit over the original recording. Here you will find a risqué French language cover of The Capitols’ soul hit “We Got A Thing That’s In The Groove” drenched in fuzz guitar and propelled with a heavy beat. This is ripped directly from chanteuse Charlotte Leslie’s 1966 7-inch e.p. “Ça M’est Égal.” While this one isn’t easy to find in its original form, its become such a classic over time that you can find it on a number of compilations including the super-solid one that first introduced me to the track years ago, “Wizzz!” Amusez-vous bien…
