Tel Aviv’s Monotonix, the wildest and wooliest live rock and roll spectacle going right now, invade NYC. If you missed their last NYC appearance at the Village Voice’s Siren Fest, this trio of hairy Israelis play in the crowd the entire time – crowd surfing (even the entire drum set), setting stuff on fire, and generally going nuts while generating some very loud, stomping, hand-clapping rock and roll. New York Night Train DJ Mr Jonathan Toubin will be joining the band and tour partners Turbo Fruits (a very fine raw anthemic Nashville punk band from the ashes of Be Your Own Pet) tonight (very early!) at Santos’ Party House (super-early) with the Beets and tomorrow at Market Hotel with Ill Ease, Static Static (YES! LA’s finest!), Emok, and Boogie Boarder. After Santos’, the Monotonix have their official afterparty at New York Night Train’s Shakin’ All Over Under Sideways Down party at Home Sweet Home.

And tomorrow, while the Monotonix rock the Market Hotel, New York Night Train presents a double record release parties for its friends the Nouvellas and The Black Hollies. Both bands will play as will Electric Shadows blues side-project Daddy Long Legs, DJ sets by Smashed! Blocked!’s Josh Styles and Nouvellas’ Jamie and Leah, and guest appearances through the night by Andy Animal, members of Budos Band and more. Finally, this party will be followed by and attached to the culmination of all of these events, New York Night Train’s fabulous internationally celebrated SOUL CLAP AND DANCE-OFF (get into both parties for one low price!). This month’s party goes from MIDNIGHT to 4AM and the contest features a surprise MC and guest judges from the earlier bands: Yonatan of Monotonix, Jonas of Turbo Fruits, Heather of Static Static, Leah and Jamie of Nouvellas, and Justin Angelo Morey of Black Hollies.

Phewwww! And get ready as New York Night Train helms the East End Bar in Portland for two nights of exciting parties with secret guest performances and DJ sets by the biggest stars of Vice Scion Garage Rock Festival in Portland, OR and then an exciting week of CMJ fest madness!
