Wednesday w/guest DJ Emma Vikingskull, June 18, Motor City (127 Ludlow, Lower East Side, Manhattan), 10pm, FREE: New York Night Train’s Mr. Jonathan Toubin continues jos proud Wednesday music salon tradition with a hangout featuring guest DJ Emma Vikingskull Fyman. Emma, an authentic Viking-blooded Scandinavian lost at sea and washed ashore in NYC, not only works at New York Night Train’s favorite contemporary record label, Norton, leads local band The Jadewalkers, and writes what appears to be New York’s only punk music blog written entirely in Swedish, but is also is the DJ and promoter of The Pub at Otto’s and Graveyard Boogie at Rehab. Expect to hear a whole lotta dirty old r&b, soul, garage, punk, and other music entirely appropriate to Motor City without ever being obvious.
