Maxwell’s
Another historic venue that’s seen better days in terms of booking but still sometimes busts out a candy gig. In the 1980s Maxwell’s became such an important indie rock stop that Peter Buck bought a piece of the ship to keep it from going under, as, later, did Bob Mould, and, much later, current co-owner Steve Shelley. The sound is amazing, there ain’t a bad spot in the room, and the grub is just fine.
