THE THUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER: PAULA HENDERSON AND JIM WHITE!

My distinguished guest DJs tonight are two of Australia’s finest exports to the New York music scene. Soulful baritone saxophonist Paula Henderson, who currently leads the legendary downtown trio Moisturizer and her solo project Secretary, is also a member or Reverend Vince Anderson’s Love Choir, Gregory Tate’s Burnt Sugar Arkestra, and moonlights with everybody and their mamas. She used to also play with James Chance and the Contortions, Tadanosion, Gogol Bordello, The Vanity Set, and a variety of others. The other guest DJ is one my favorite drummers, Jim White of Dirty Three fame, also a current member of Catpower and White Magic, has played in Nick Cave’s solo band, a few Will Oldham projects, Smog, and too many other outfits to list. A couple of amazing musicians with exquisite taste and an desire to get ya down… low down… R ya gonna b there?
