One of the most important forces in contemporary psychedelic music, or recent indie rock in general, this Houston-to-Oakland native paints a surreal nautical portrait whose verse may remind you a bit of Classics IV’s “Spooky” before it drifts into a sea of pop choruses and instrumental parts that feature a surprisingly straight sax solo.
