The iconic No Wave/Post-Punk/Goth/Noise Rock pioneer who’s been relentlessly terrorizing pop culture’s disingenuous veneer since the 1970s, LYDIA LUNCH, is sliding down the chimney without a care to cure your holiday blues! She’s put together a killer bill of bands and DJs to set your mistletoe on fire, shake your tree, and redden your nose! Get ready to hunker in for a night of music, dancing, booze, eats (by Luther’s!), and friends in the warm cozy confines of TV EYE! Come early! Stay Late! Make a night of it!
Live in TV Eye’s ballroom:
– LYDIA LUNCH’s MURDEROUS AGAIN combines her dynamic spoken word with the psycho-ambient jazz noir of sonic brutarians Tim Dahl & Matt Nelson to create provocative musical mayhem.
– ART GRAY NOIZZ QUINTET are Aussie noise rock legend STU SPASM of LUBRICATED GOAT’s NYC supergroup who consistently deliver tight heavy evil rock’n’roll that’s guaranteed to make your hair stand on end!
– GENRE IS DEATH is young duo that’s been turning heads since they came to NYC all the way from Atlanta to abuse our ears with a low heavy rumble that’s rooted deep in this city’s finest avant noise rock, no wave, and proto punk traditions!
DJs:
– JONATHAN TOUBIN – i’ll be spinning some off-beat 45rpm vinyl choices between the bands
– CELLARS & P.D. MILLER (Front Bar after-show) – LA synth pop star CELLARS and NYC’s own tech wizard and prolific musician (Ariel Pink, etc) P.D. MILLER join forces to shake you all night long with their eclectic vinyl choices
– SKELETON BOY (Room 237 after-show) – TV EYE opens its back room after the show for a hang out with this local legend who specializes in NYC Noise, Autralian Swamp Rock, Noir soundtracks, Crime Jazz, and other late night moods
Delicious southern eats by Luther’s all night long
